Fr Matthias Farid Wahba (1939–2018) was a priest and patristics scholar. After being involved in the Sunday School Movement in Fagala, Cairo, he served as a priest in Egypt for some years before moving to Canada where he received an MA and a PhD in patristic theology. His theses — one on The Doctrine of Sanctification in St Athanasius’ Letters and another on Honourable Marriage According to St Augustine — were both written in English, and later published. He served in several churches, including some in the United States, before passing away in 2018.
